The story
A grieving teen finds an unexpected connection with two classmates at her new high school after they all land in the same Shoplifters Anonymous group.
What it’s like
Saturated, sugary color does much of the work here: pastel bedrooms, neon-lit drugstore aisles, and warm suburban afternoons, shot with bouncy handheld framing and quick cuts that match a pop-heavy soundtrack. The vibe is bittersweet and playful, with grief running underneath the glitter, and it suits a restless weeknight, a comfort rewatch, or a stretch of scrolling where you want something bright that still has an ache in it. The pacing is brisk and episodic, with each hour spent on small confessions, sudden fallings-out and quiet reconciliations. The emotional arc follows three young women, each carrying private damage, slowly learning to trust one another and to admit what they have been hiding. Intensity is moderate: teen drinking and drug use, sexual talk and kissing, frequent strong language, and addiction and self-destructive behavior handled frankly, with no gore and little graphic violence. It is for viewers who want warm, character-driven teen drama with honest feeling, especially those who appreciate queer friendship stories told with humor and tenderness.
