The story
An adventurous, foul-mouthed former swimming coach reaches for record-breaking glory when he attempts a triathlon at 69 years old.
What it’s like
Bright, bustling comedy-drama with an irreverent streak, built around the grind of training: pool lanes, open roads, and the ragged, determined energy of an older athlete refusing to be written off. The look and sound are not something this description can vouch for in detail, but the premise points to a lively, crowd-pleasing rhythm, with broad humour undercut by moments of stubborn self-doubt and affection. Expect a foul-mouthed, rough-edged lead who makes the comedy sharp, with profanity a noticeable part of the dialogue and little sign of violence or gore in the premise. Its emotional register is warm and scrappy, following a proud, unlikely comeback as it plays out between bickering, loyalty and stubbornness. It suits a weekend afternoon or a light evening watch, and fits viewers who enjoy underdog sports stories, older protagonists who defy expectations, and comedies that don't mind being a little rude.
