The story

During a wild vacation in Las Vegas, career woman Joy McNally and playboy Jack Fuller come to the sober realization that they have married each other after a night of drunken abandon. They are then compelled, for legal reasons, to live life as a couple for a limited period of time. At stake is a large amount of money.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated Las Vegas in full daylight and neon: sun-bleached pool decks, glossy casino floors under warm chandelier light, hotel suites in cream and gold, and the flat, cheerful digital polish of a mid-2000s studio comedy. The camera stays conventional and tidy, with medium two-shots and bouncing reaction cuts that give the jokes room to breathe, and the score is a bubbly pop-and-lounge mix that keeps the energy easy and upbeat. Its vibe is breezy, warm and mildly chaotic, the kind of playful romcom to put on for a lazy weekend afternoon, a long-haul flight, or background company while folding laundry. The pace is brisk and sitcom-like, with loose, bantering scenes that build toward a slow thaw between two stubborn opposites, a driven professional and a self-centered charmer who gradually learn to see each other. Intensity is light: drinking and boozy hijinks, some crude sexual humour and innuendo, mild slapstick, and no real violence or gore. It suits viewers who want a cheerful, undemanding romance with a few laughs and a satisfying happy ending.
