The story
A diligent teen winds up living with his spunky childhood friend, a trainee witch, to protect her from a dire prophecy. But can they survive high school?
What it’s like
Bright, saturated anime colors over clean line art, with sunlit school corridors, pastel-sky afternoons and cozy domestic interiors where warm lamplight spills across kitchen tables. Its comedy is brisk and bouncy: quick cuts, exaggerated reaction faces, and a playful score of cheerful pop-rock and light orchestral flourishes that swells for the magical set pieces. Spells arrive as sparkly bursts of glittering color, and the everyday world feels soft and friendly. The vibe is bright, goofy and warm, a lively slice-of-life romcom with a dash of fantasy, best suited to a weekend binge or an easy after-school watch. Pacing is quick and episodic, with frequent gags and small domestic moments. Emotionally it stays light: a reluctant, earnest guy and his headstrong childhood friend slowly learn to work together, and their awkward closeness grows through shared chores and classroom mishaps. Intensity is low: magical mishaps and mild peril but no gore, and romance stays chaste and teasing. Made for viewers who want a cheerful, gentle rom-com with witchy charm and no heavy stakes.
