The story
With real life and teen drama awaiting her after 8th grade graduation, CJ Martin has only a short time left to make the most of her middle school years. Together with her two lifelong best friends Fenwick and Crispo, she is determined to get the most out of this time, using an ever-expanding list of challenges as a guide. For this group, growing up means trying everything and taking chances while they still can.
What it’s like
Bright, bouncy daylight in suburban interiors and school hallways, with a warm, saturated palette that keeps the mood sunny even when the stakes feel big. The look is clean and family-comedy polished, with brisk cutting, playful sound cues, and a light pop-leaning score that punctuates the set-piece challenges. Its vibe is upbeat and affectionate, a bit goofy and a lot earnest, the kind of show that feels like a sleepover that runs late in a comfortable den. It suits an easy weeknight, a lazy afternoon with kids or teens nearby, or background watching while doing something with your hands. Pacing is quick and episodic, each episode built around a new dare, and the emotional register stays gentle: friendship is the anchor, and the arc follows three kids who are growing apart at the edges while holding tight to each other. Intensity is very low; there is no violence, gore, or sexual content, just mild peer tension and awkward crushes. It is for people who want a warm, funny, low-stakes watch about childhood friendship and the nervous, hopeful final stretch before high school.
