The story
A coming-of-age story about the lives of 18-year-old high school students who are valued according to their ranking in school. Despite their frustrations, they find out how to make their own way in this world that seems to be a stagnant cycle of school and home.
What it’s like
Bright, busy classrooms under cool fluorescent light give way to warmer, softer interiors at home, and the camera moves with restless energy through crowded corridors, rooftops, and late-afternoon streets. The palette is clean and sunlit, with school blues and whites, and the soundtrack leans on bright pop and upbeat indie tracks that swell over the quieter, anxious moments. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with sharp comic beats cutting into heavier stretches about exam pressure and rankings. The mood is hopeful but tense, a bittersweet youthful restlessness with flashes of first crushes and friendship. Violence is minimal; the harder moments are verbal cruelty, bullying, and parental pressure, handled with more sting than shock. It suits a weeknight binge with a snack, or a nostalgic revisit to the years when every test felt like the whole world. It is for viewers who enjoy Korean school dramas that balance romance and coming-of-age ache, and who want their emotional stakes sincere without being bleak.
