The story

Yuki Takeya, Kurumi Ebisuzawa, Yuri Wakasa, and Miki Naoki decide to stay over at school. Along with the school adviser Megumi Sakura, they suddenly find themselves to be the final survivors of a zombie attack, and continue to live and survive at the school.

What it’s like

Bright, cheerful school colours sit over a world that is slowly going wrong: sunlit classrooms, rooftop skies and tidy corridors rendered in clean, soft-edged animation with rounded, expressive character designs. The mood turns on contrast, as shadowed hallways, dim stairwells and eerie stillness creep into scenes that began as ordinary daily routine. Music tends toward light, bouncy pop-leaning cues that clash with sudden hushed silences and tense, pulsing suspense. The vibe is playful unease, a comedy of small domestic routines with a cold undercurrent, best suited to a weekend binge or a late-evening watch when you want something lighter with a shiver underneath. Pacing alternates brisk, chatty episodes with abrupt jolts of danger. Intensity is moderate: zombie attacks bring fear, chase tension and some bloody, sudden violence, though it stays more shocking than lingering and is not gory throughout. The emotional register swings between warm camaraderie and anxious dread, following young women learning to lean on each other under pressure. It suits viewers who enjoy horror that keeps its sense of humour, and who don't mind surprise violence within a largely cheerful, slice-of-life frame.
