The story

When a kindergarten teacher takes her 16 students hostage and makes a set of demands, it not only rattles the Mumbai police and the city but also sends shockwaves through the country and its leaders as the motive behind the hostage situation is unearthed.

What it’s like

Confined, institutional spaces under cool fluorescent light, with the tension built from close quarters and held breath rather than spectacle. Much of the action sits inside a single school building, where classroom walls and corridors press in, and the frame keeps cutting outward to police gathered in harsh daylight, so the city feels both near and out of reach. The sound design leans on hushed voices, ticking clocks and sudden silences, with music used sparingly to sharpen a turn. Its vibe is taut, anxious and politically charged, a procedural with a moral sting that suits a focused evening when you want to be absorbed rather than soothed. The pace is steady and escalating, with the emotional weight resting on a teacher, her young captives and the officer trying to reach her. Intensity is high in dread and threat to children, with peril and emotional strain more prominent than graphic gore. It is for viewers who want a tense, character-driven thriller with real stakes and no easy comfort.
