The story

While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

What it’s like

Claustrophobic corridors in sickly green and amber, lit by flickering emergency strips and the cold blue glow of consoles, with the grime of decayed machinery thick on every surface. The camera stays close and restless, often handheld and tracking characters through tight vents and dripping, half-flooded decks, then pulls back to hold wide, silent shots of the vast, indifferent station against black space. Sound design does much of the work: groaning metal, distant hums, a pulsing low score that drops out entirely before a sudden burst of noise. The vibe is bleak, tense and sweaty, a dread that builds through long stretches of creeping suspense. It suits a late-night watch alone with the lights off, when you want to feel trapped and on edge. Violence is frequent and graphic, with gory body horror, sudden deaths and creature attacks, and the fear is deliberately physical rather than cerebral. Not gentle. For viewers who want relentless survival horror in the classic Alien mould, with a young, scrappy cast fighting to stay alive.
