The story

Carla and Bruno believe they have answers for everything until Rai appears in their lives, an attractive and mysterious young who lives outsidethe rules. In this story about love and friendship, boundaries dissolve by the rhythm of funkyand break to offer a provocative, exciting and deeply touching vision about romantic relationships.

What it’s like

Warm, restless city energy, with the pulse of funk and dance music setting the rhythm of the story. Expect the sun-washed streets and nighttime interiors of Barcelona, a setting the metadata places at the centre of the drama, and a mood that moves between giddy and tender. The overall feel is a sensual, talky, coming-of-age romance: a loose, unsettled sort of intimacy rather than a quiet or meditative one. Its emotional register runs through attraction, jealousy, and the slow renegotiation of loyalty when three people refuse to fit the rules they were raised with. Its people are young adults testing what love and friendship can hold, and the arc follows them through unease toward a more open, uncertain tenderness. Romantic and sexual frankness is part of the territory, and infidelity and bisexuality drive much of the conflict, so this is not a gentle or low-stakes watch. Fights and physical risk, suggested by the martial-arts and dance tags, are not the centre of the film. It suits a late evening with a glass of wine, or a viewer who wants a grown-up story about desire, friendship, and the limits of monogamy. It is made for people who enjoy messy, emotionally direct romance and aren't looking for comfort.
