The story

After an amazing first date, Bea and Ben’s fiery attraction turns ice cold — until they find themselves unexpectedly reunited at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-saturated Australian daylight does most of the work here: beaches the colour of bleached paper, eucalyptus-green hillsides, sparkling turquoise water, and a warm, glossy digital finish that never gets gritty. The camera stays lively and comedic, with quick cuts, bouncing two-shots and wide establishing frames of vineyards and coastline that make the wedding location feel like a postcard. The score is bouncy pop and acoustic bounce with a few sunny covers, so the soundtrack rarely lets the energy drop. Vibe-wise it is breezy, bubbly and warmly self-aware, the kind of thing to put on for a lazy afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or a light night in when you want to laugh without thinking. Pacing is brisk, and the emotional arc follows two prickly, witty people who keep sniping at each other until the bickering starts to look a lot like something else. Intensity is low: some crude jokes and sexual innuendo, a few raunchy comic moments, but no real violence, gore or cruelty. It suits viewers who want a cheerful, sexy-but-not-steamy romantic comedy with sunshine, sparring leads and a sweet payoff.
