The story

Ahead of a major constitutional decision which rendered the Article 370 of the Indian state ineffective, special agent Zooni Haksar is tasked with a secret mission to quell violence in the conflict-ridden region.

What it’s like

A glossy, mainstream spy thriller set against the snowbound valleys and tense streets of Kashmir, with a clean studio finish, rousing score swells, and fast-cut action. Its mood is urgent and patriotic, with a heavy nationalist sweep, and it reads as an unapologetically one-sided take on a politically charged moment. The pacing is brisk and plot-driven, built around briefings, covert operations, and set pieces rather than quiet observation. Its emotional register is stirring and triumphalist more than intimate, and its characters are drawn in broad, heroic strokes. The intensity is moderate to high: regular gunfire, explosions, and combat violence, with dread and street unrest more than gore. It suits a Friday night with friends or someone who wants an adrenaline-fueled, unambiguous national-pride thriller, and it is not suited to anyone seeking nuance, gentleness, or a balanced view of its subject.
