The story
Ronny, a battle-hardened soldier, learns of the disappearance of the daughter of his former lover. His intense investigation leads him to uncover a web of crimes and a secret from the past.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated daylight and wide, kinetic frames give this Hindi action film a loud, glossy surface, with slow-motion impacts, quick-cut stunt sequences and bursts of pop-tinged dance numbers that break up the tension. The score leans on thumping percussion and big orchestral swells during fights, while the quieter moments carry a soft, sun-warmed romance. The pacing is brisk and rarely lets up, and the emotional register swings between sincere sentiment and heightened melodrama. Its intensity is high: frequent hand-to-hand combat, gunfire, car crashes and beatings, with some bloodshed and a villainous edge, but no gore for its own sake. It suits a Friday night with friends or a loud, escapist evening when you want spectacle, physical comedy and a clear-cut hero. It is for viewers who enjoy big-screen Bollywood energy, stylised martial arts and an unapologetically earnest, high-octane ride rather than anything subtle or slow.
