The story
College freshman Abby tries to distance herself from her dark past while resisting her attraction to bad boy Travis.
What it’s like
Warm, glossy campus romance with a restless edge: bright daytime interiors, dorm rooms washed in fluorescent overhead light, and then a sudden shift into smoky, low-lit warehouse spaces where bare bulbs and sweat-sheened skin carry the tension. The camera stays close and handheld during the fight-club sequences, cutting quickly around bodies and impacts, while the quieter moments between the leads are framed with softer focus and lingering two-shots. Music leans on pop-rock and thumping electronic beats, pushing the energy up whenever the bouts start. Vibe is flirtatious and restless, with a streak of sulky melancholy, best suited to a weekend night in or a comfort rewatch with friends. Pacing is brisk and the emotional register is romantic and teasing, with a guarded young woman slowly letting a volatile man get past her defenses. The fight scenes involve bare-knuckle brawling with visible bruising and blood, while sexual content is suggestive and sensual rather than explicit. Aimed at fans of young adult romance who want heat, rivalry, and a bit of danger.
