The story

In a brewing war between the gods of Olympus and the titans, Heron, a commoner living on the outskirts of ancient Greece, becomes mankind's best hope of surviving an evil demon army, when he discovers the secrets of his past.

What it’s like

Hand-drawn, anime-influenced animation with bold ink outlines, flat saturated colour and a warm, sun-baked palette of ochre, olive and deep Aegean blue, set against ancient Greek cities, rocky coastlines and dusty fields. Its action is staged with a clear, kinetic sense of weight: sword and spear fights are cut with sharp framing and quick shifts between wide shots and close, intense faces, while the monsters and the divine realm are rendered in lurid, dark-fantasy shades. The score leans on driving percussion and strings, with a bit of choral grandeur when the gods appear. Its vibe is epic and brooding, a sun-drenched myth with a shadowed undertow, best for a weekend binge or a late-evening watch with the volume up. Pacing is brisk and serialised, with a restless energy that rarely pauses, and the emotional register is earnest and heroic, centred on a young outsider slowly coming to terms with a larger destiny. Violence is frequent and stylised, with bloody sword combat, dismemberment and grim monster deaths, though it is more mythic than gory; not suitable for anyone seeking something gentle. Made for fans of mythological fantasy, anime-style action, and dark, heroic adventure.
