The story
Roy, a professional conman, gets dumped by his girlfriend after she find out the truth about him. After being diagnosed with a fatal disease, he resolves to do some good by helping an amateur conman to hoodwink the mobster who hurt his family.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated studio colour and busy, theatrical staging give this Bollywood caper a glossy, sun-warmed feel, with Mumbai rendered in crowded streets, bustling offices and polished interiors built for shiny set-piece reveals. The mood is light and playful: a comedy of schemes and double-crosses with bouncy musical numbers and a bright, upbeat score that keeps the energy moving, while a quieter undercurrent of loss and second chances gives the romance and the friendship between two very different con artists some tenderness. Pacing is brisk and twisty, built on reversals and quick cuts, so it suits a Friday evening, a group watch, or a comfort rewatch when you want something that is funny and a little sentimental rather than tense. Intensity stays low: there are threats and a menacing gangster, but the violence is mostly offscreen or cartoonish, with no gore and little real fear. It is for viewers who enjoy clever cons, romantic banter, and big-hearted Bollywood entertainment with a touch of melancholy.
