The story
A vampire hunter fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly beasts controlled by Dracula himself.
What it’s like
Hand-drawn 2D animation with bold ink lines, flat saturated colour and sharp silhouettes, its palette tilting toward bruised purples, sickly greens and the orange of torchlight and burning buildings. Night dominates: candlelit interiors, moonlit rooftops and a rain-soaked medieval city that feels oppressive and decaying, with grotesque creature designs rendered in gleeful detail. The score leans on driving, guitar-heavy rock and synth pulses, so action sequences hit hard, while quieter scenes let the dialogue breathe. Vibe: dark, sardonic and swaggering, with a grim undercurrent of plague and clerical corruption. Pacing is brisk, with short episodes that build momentum across each season. Intensity is high: frequent graphic violence, gore, decapitation and dismemberment, plus strong profanity and some nudity and sexual content; dread and horror are constant. Its people are damaged outsiders who reluctantly form loyalties against an institution that has failed them. It suits late-night binges for fans of gothic horror, animated action and wry, bloody fantasy, and is not a fit for anyone seeking something gentle.
