The story

Two unlikely companions embark on a perilous adventure through the badlands of an unexplored planet as they try to escape a dangerous and disorienting reality, where all inner thoughts are seen and heard by everyone.

What it’s like

Rough, dusty, and sun-bleached, with wide open badlands under a hard alien sky and handheld camera work that keeps you close to the grit and the shouting. The palette runs to ochre, rust and washed-out greens, with lens flares and a glossy digital sheen that makes the frontier feel more like a busy blockbuster set than a quiet wilderness. Sound is loud and insistent: the constant chorus of other people's thoughts pours through the soundtrack as overlapping murmurs, and the score pulses with orchestral swells and action drums. Pacing is brisk and chase-driven, with long stretches of running, arguing and dodging, the emotional register alternating between spiky banter and sincere, earnest moments. Intensity is moderate: several gunfights and brawls with some bloodless violence and peril, but no gore and little sustained cruelty. Good for a weekend afternoon or a light-hearted sci-fi evening with friends, especially for viewers who like a young-adult adventure where two wary outsiders slowly learn to trust each other, and who don't mind a blockbuster sheen over quiet atmosphere.
