The story

On one last grueling mission during Army Ranger training, a combat engineer must lead his unit in a fight against a giant otherworldly killing machine.

What it’s like

Grim, grinding and mostly nocturnal, with the palette leaning on dusty olive, sodium-orange flare and the cold blue-white of night-vision and muzzle flashes. Expect handheld, sweat-close framing through the squad's faces, quick cuts during firefights that shift to steadier wide shots when the alien hardware looms over the dunes and scrubland. The sound design is the main event: booming weapon fire, metallic grinding from the machine, radio chatter clipped to the bone, with a low synth drone that swells under the tension and drops out in tight pauses. Places feel parched, claustrophobic and hot, and the weather is mostly dry heat and dust. The vibe is hard-edged and relentless, a sustained survival push rather than a slow burn. It suits a late-night, adrenaline-seeking watch or a weekend action binge. Intensity is high: frequent gunfire and explosions, bloody wounds and body damage, peril throughout, with fear and cruelty in the combat rather than sexual content. It is not gentle. It is for viewers who want military sci-fi with grit, a squad under pressure, and a protagonist hardened by training and past combat.
