The story

Elena Houghlin is a scientist, engineer and inventor of Calisto -- a sustainable energy source that will revolutionize the way people use power. It will be ready as soon as she works out the last issue, if not it could be turned into a dangerous weapon. But when the cutting edge technology is pushed to an investor before she can do that, Elena turns to the Townsend Agency for help. Now, it's up to the Angels -- Jane, Sabina, and the newly recruited Elena -- to retrieve Calisto before it can be transformed into a weapon of mass destruction.

What it’s like

Bright, glossy studio-action gloss with saturated primary colours, sleek interiors and bustling European street scenes, shot in a polished digital style with quick cutting and bold, playful framing. The sound is upbeat pop and synth-driven score, with punchy fight choreography, crisp gunfire and frequent comic beats. Its vibe is breezy, flirtatious and high-energy, the kind of comfort-action film that suits a casual weekend evening, a group watch, or something easy on a long-haul flight. Pacing is brisk, with bursts of set-piece action and banter between the three leads as a newly recruited scientist learns to trust her new colleagues and they learn to trust her. Violence is frequent but mostly stylised and bloodless, with gunfights, hand-to-hand combat and explosions; there is some peril and betrayal but little gore, and the sexual content is minimal. It is aimed at viewers who want a fun, light-hearted spy caper with a sisterhood-centred heart and a comedic edge, rather than grit or realism.
