The story

A gang of innocent but feisty kids who lead carefree lives in Chandan Nagar colony, take on the big bad world of politics when one of their friend's life is endangered.

What it’s like

Bright, scrappy daylight over a crowded Mumbai housing colony, with tight handheld framing that keeps the children close to the camera and dusty lanes, cramped flats and rooftops in warm, saturated color. The mood is buoyant and mischievous, a kids' comedy with real family warmth, where games, pranks and a stray dog's antics fill the early stretches and a sudden tremor of worry seeps in as the grown-up world presses close. Its pace is brisk and playful, with lots of brief scenes and bursts of music and dance (including a few breakdancing flourishes) that give it a bouncy, television-friendly energy. The emotional arc follows a band of kids who learn to stand up for one of their own and discover their own courage. Violence is absent or mild, with threats and scuffles that stay light and nothing graphic; the peril is emotional rather than physical. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a family viewing with children, or a comfort watch for anyone wanting something sunny, goofy and gently uplifting. Made for families and younger viewers, and for adults who enjoy a warm, unpretentious Indian comedy-drama.
