The story
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated suburban daylight, autumn leaves and fake-pumpkin porches, with the glossy, cheerful palette of a Halloween postcard curdling into something sour. The camera moves briskly and often swoops through cul-de-sacs and kitchens, while the score leans on synth stings and pop cues that undercut the carnage. Its vibe is gleefully nasty: mean-spirited satire with a wink, the kind of show that treats a small town's pearl-clutching hypocrisy as fair game. The pace is quick, with episodes built around escalating set pieces and sharp, profane banter, and the emotional register swings between knowing laughs and sudden jolts. The intensity is high: frequent, graphic gore and bloody kills, sexual content and strong language, and cruelty played for shock rather than dread. It suits a loud Halloween-season binge with friends, not a gentle night in. It is for horror fans who enjoy slasher gore, dark comedy, and a doll who never stops being funny and unpleasant.
