The story

Professor Se-jeong is thrust into a bloody nightmare when a rapidly mutating virus is released during a biotech conference causing authorities to seal the facility. Trapped inside with no escape, Se-jeong along with a small group of survivors must fight to stay alive while the infected undergo horrific transformations.

What it’s like

Sealed corridors, sterile laboratory white and the flicker of emergency lighting suggest a cold, clinical dread, with the bloody chaos of an outbreak breaking through that clean surface. The vibe is tense and claustrophobic, with an ambivalent edge that leaves the question of who is responsible for the disaster and what a cure costs hanging in the air. It suits a late-night watch with the lights low, or a weekend when you want a genre film that is more pressure than release. Pacing is driven by escape attempts and tight confinement, and the emotional arc follows a small group of survivors learning to trust each other under impossible pressure, with the professor's sense of duty tested by what she is asked to do. Intensity is high: frequent bloody violence and grotesque body horror as the infected transform, with fear and dread far more prominent than any gentle comfort. Not suited to anyone seeking calm. It is for viewers who enjoy zombie outbreak stories with action set-pieces, a sci-fi premise about contagion and science, and a darker moral unease running underneath the carnage.
