The story
Digseum is a short, unique incremental journey about digging up ancient relics and building the greatest museum ever! Excavate for ancient relics across the world, manage your resources and upgrade your abilities, and build the biggest and greatest museum the world has ever seen!
What it’s like
Chunky pixel-art dirt and stone give way to tidy museum halls in a bright, storybook palette, with flat sunlit greens and sandy ochres and little bursts of magic colour when a relic surfaces. The camera hovers above the dig sites in a clean top-down view, and the screen fills with small animated figures, squirrels, and mummies going about their work. The soundtrack is light and bouncy, with chiptune-leaning loops and the satisfying chime of each find, while the quieter moments carry a soft, unhurried hush. The vibe is cheerful, cosy and gently whimsical, the kind of thing to pick up for a short evening session, a lazy afternoon, or a few minutes of background tinkering. Progress comes through clicking, digging, and steadily expanding a collection, with a skill tree and upgradable tools that quicken the rhythm as the museum grows, so the pace is brisk in bursts and calm between them. Its emotional register is playful and light, centred on a quiet pride in small accomplishments rather than any real tension. Violence and fear are absent, and the danger is limited to a mummy's mild cartoonish nuisance. It suits people who enjoy idle and incremental games, collectors who like watching a display fill up, and anyone wanting a short, low-stakes, gentle diversion.
