The story

Two petty thieves Tara and Sitara get on the bad side of two wanted criminals, namely Panther and Cobra.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated studio colour and broad, theatrical staging: Bollywood comedy-caper territory, with crowded frames, big set-piece costumes, and mistaken-identity chaos lit in cheerful flat daylight and warm interiors. The sound is loud and playful, with a bouncy filmi score, slapstick sound effects, and sudden stings for every pratfall. Pacing is brisk and episodic, cutting between chases, disguises and slapstick scuffles, with little time for quiet moments. Tone is light and farcical, running on banter and cartoonish comic escalation rather than real threat. The mood is breezy silliness, the kind of comedy to put on for a lazy evening with friends or a family movie night. Violence is comic and slapstick: plenty of fistfights, staged brawls and gunplay with exaggerated, bloodless stunts, nothing gory, though the criminal plot keeps menace in the background. Romance is light and sung rather than physical. Best suited to viewers who want high-energy, goofy, unpretentious comedy with a stream of gags and musical numbers, and who don't mind a cheerfully messy plot.
