The story
A safe cracker claims he has lost his memory when two criminals come calling for their cut of the bank heist loot.
What it’s like
Bright, cramped Delhi interiors under tube lights and warm tungsten bulbs, with a restless handheld camera that lurches between tight close-ups and wide, sweaty street frames. The palette runs to mustard, bottle green and faded pink, and the city sounds loud and close: traffic horns, ceiling fans, bickering over chai. The score is jaunty and percussive, with sudden silences that let a cramped apartment feel like a stage. Pacing is brisk and tangled, with farce escalating in quick cuts, and the tone is breezy caper-comedy with an undertow of anxiety, a cynical little romp with a sly, almost screwball energy. Its emotional register stays light; the central pairing is a sharp, unreliable man and a bored, gutsy woman who keep trading the upper hand, and the arc is less about redemption than about two people outmanoeuvring each other. Intensity is low: a few scuffles and threats, some mild menace and one or two tense standoffs, with no gore and no sexual content. Suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a bright, easy watch with friends, or anyone who wants a witty, twisting crime comedy with a playful pulse. For viewers who like smart, fast-talking capers and don't mind the crime being played for laughs.
