The story
The life of three friends takes a tragic turn when inflated electricity bills despite frequent power cuts in a hilly town up north of the country expose the rotten system.
What it’s like
Bright, sun-washed daylight and cramped, lived-in interiors give this Hindi comedy-drama a warm, slightly rumpled look, with crowded small-town streets, tiled rooftops, and hill-town haze framing the everyday. The camera stays close to its characters in busy scenes and lingers on domestic bustle, while the score leans on upbeat, playful Bollywood pop that gives way to quieter, more pensive moments as the mood darkens. Its vibe is wry, affectionate, and gently angry: a mix of friendly banter and mounting frustration, good for a lazy weekend afternoon or a watch with friends who enjoy social satire. The pacing is brisk and chatty, and the emotional register swings between broad, teasing humor and sober unease. Its central relationships carry the film, with a group of friends drifting from carefree camaraderie toward disillusionment and a fight for something larger than themselves. Intensity stays low: there is some shouting, peril-tinged tension, and a sombre turn in the second half, but no graphic violence, gore, or sexual content. It suits viewers who want a socially conscious comedy with heart, a film that laughs at everyday frustrations while keeping its eye on the systems behind them.
