The story
A hardened gun-for-hire's latest mission becomes a soul-searching race to survive when he's sent into Bangladesh to rescue a drug lord's kidnapped son.
What it’s like
Relentless, kinetic and grimy, with gritty handheld camera work that lurches through cramped Mumbai-style streets, dim slum alleys and sweat-soaked interiors lit by sickly fluorescent tubes, sodium streetlamps and the cold blue of night-vision. The palette runs to muddy ochres, rust and dried-blood browns, and the long, unbroken shots of stairwells and rooftop chases give the action a claustrophobic, lived-in weight. The sound is loud and percussive, gunfire cracking over a pulsing, synth-heavy score that drops out for tense silences before each eruption. Vibe: hard-edged, sweaty, mercenary grit. It suits a late-night action binge or a loud watch with friends. Violence is frequent and vivid, with close-up gunfire, brutal hand-to-hand fights, blood and some deaths shown plainly, though sexual content is absent and the tone rarely lingers on cruelty for its own sake. Pacing is propulsive, with the emotional register kept mostly restrained: a hardened, cynical fixer gradually drawn toward protecting a boy he was paid to retrieve. For fans of muscular, practical-looking action who want tension over talk.
