The story

A group of queer best friends gather in the Fire Island Pines for their annual week of love and laughter. However, desires, dramas, drink and drugs push their bonds to the limits.

What it’s like

Warm sunlit beach days and hazy, saturated evenings in the Pines, with the glow of string lights, sun-faded wooden decks and pool-party brightness giving way to dim, sweaty dance-floor nights lit in pinks and blues. The camera stays close and casual, lingering in conversations on sunny decks and the easy physical comfort of friends sharing a house, and the score leans on bright pop and dance tracks that swell into club sequences and drop back to quiet. The mood is breezy and funny, with a sharp, affectionate banter and a bittersweet undertow about who stays close and who drifts, the kind of summer-holiday comedy that feels like a sunny afternoon that turns into a long, tipsy night. Its arcs follow a close circle of friends working through crushes, old resentments and the question of what they owe each other as they grow up. Expect sexual content, including explicit talk and some nudity, drug and alcohol use shown openly, and emotional sharpness, but no real violence and no gore. It suits a lazy weekend, a comfort watch with friends, or late-night company, and it is made for viewers who enjoy queer comedy, ensemble friendship stories and summer-holiday moods.
