The story
FiveM is a modification for Grand Theft Auto V enabling you to play multiplayer on customized dedicated servers, powered by Cfx.re.
What it’s like
Sun-bleached Los Santos streets, glossy palms, and the saturated, slightly exaggerated colour grading of a GTA V city at golden hour, with neon signs and headlights smearing across rain-slick asphalt after dark. The look is the base game's: sprawling highways, sodium-lit suburbs, and a constant sense of open space that community servers reshape with their own custom maps, vehicles and clothing. Sound comes from the familiar radio stations, engine roar, sirens and ambient city chatter, mixed with the chaotic bustle of other players talking on voice chat. The vibe is restless and social, sometimes playful, sometimes tense, shifting with whatever a given server's roleplay scene is building. Sessions run long and unscripted, with pacing set entirely by the players: a slow evening cruise, a crowded street meeting, or a sudden chase that tips into mayhem. Intensity depends heavily on the server, from low-key cosy roleplay to combat-heavy shootouts with gunfire, vehicle crashes and cartoonish violence, though nothing is gore-focused. It suits friends who want to hang out in a shared city, roleplayers who enjoy building stories with strangers, and anyone who wants a loose, improvised sandbox rather than a authored narrative.
