The story
Introverted and awkward Dr. Freddy Ginwala desperately searches for a soulmate. When he finally finds her, the relationship becomes as painful as a root canal.
What it’s like
Awkward, cringe-tinged comedy of manners slowly curdling into unease, with the warmth of a rom-com giving way to a colder, tenser register as the story goes on. Its look leans on ordinary Mumbai-style interiors: clinic corridors, flats and restaurants lit by plain indoor light, with close framing on faces that keep the discomfort legible. The score and needle drops push the romance forward, then the sound thins out to leave room for quiet, creeping dread. Pacing is brisk early and tightens as the relationship sours. Its people are a lonely, socially stiff man and a partner whose intentions stay ambiguous, and the emotional arc is about wanting closeness badly enough to misread everything. Intensity is moderate: psychological menace and manipulative behaviour rather than gore, with some physical threat and a few sharp, uncomfortable confrontations. Not gentle, and not a comfort watch. Best for viewers who like romantic thrillers with a twisted edge, and for anyone drawn to dark, tense relationship stories.
