The story
In this sequel to Les Bronzes (1978) summer has passed, but that doesn't mean the fun has to end for Bernard, Nathalie, Gigi, Jerome, Popeye, Jean-Claude, and Christiane.
What it’s like
Bright, snowy daylight over the French Alps, with wide shots of white slopes, chalet interiors and a crowded resort town that feel brightly lit and a little overexposed, like a holiday snapshot. The camera mostly sits back and lets the ensemble play out in full, so the jokes land in long, busy scenes rather than quick cuts. The score is light and bouncy, and the sound is full of overlapping voices, shouted insults and cheerful chaos. The mood is goofy, warm and loud, with a sense of friends who are happy to be silly together, and it suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a group watch, or a shared laugh on a cold night in. The pace is brisk and episodic, built on slapstick, running gags and broad, crude banter, and the emotional register stays light, with no real stakes beyond getting through the holiday. Intensity is low: plenty of pratfalls, sexual innuendo and rowdy vulgarity, but no real violence, gore or fear. It is for people who want an easy, rowdy, irreverent comedy about a group of mismatched holidaymakers on the slopes.
