The story

FRU is a puzzle platformer that features an innovative use of Kinect, in which your silhouette becomes a "portal" between two worlds. You will find yourself solving puzzles by strategically positioning your body, combining physical interaction with traditional platforming. The game features four completely different chapters, all based around our innovative use of the silhouette, with a unique twist to each one of them. In addition to moving and balancing your body to solve levels, you’ll also find yourself swimming inside your silhouette, striking crazy poses to activate contraptions, and awkwardly tiptoeing to avoid dangerous hazards!

What it’s like

Bright, playful silhouettes and a clean, uncluttered look make this a loose, goofy-physical afternoon game, the kind you play standing up in the living room with a laugh. Its feel is cheerful and mildly absurd: you step into a shadowy outline that opens a portal between worlds, then twist, stretch and tiptoe through short puzzle rooms that reward odd, deliberate poses. Each of the four chapters adds a new twist on the same idea, so the pace stays brisk without ever feeling punishing. The hazards are light peril rather than dread, with no gore and no real violence, and the emotional register is simple delight and a bit of giggly frustration when a pose won't quite land. It suits a casual co-op session with friends or family, a fidgety evening when you want to move rather than sit, or a short burst of play on a weekend. It is for people who want something gentle, active and inventive, with a body-first way of playing that asks for effort and a sense of humour more than reflexes.
