The story
Kim Min Gyu has wealth and success, but lives an isolated life due to his allergy of people. He then meets and falls in love with a girl who is pretending to be a robot for her ex-boyfriend, a genius robots professor.
What it’s like
Bright, polished Korean television in saturated daylight and tidy indoor sets: sleek glass offices, clean white apartments, and warm café interiors lit softly against the city. The camera leans on two-shots and reaction close-ups, with a playful, slightly stylized comic energy that gives way to tender, quieter scenes when the leads are alone. Its score is light and melodic, with bright piano and cheerful strings that swell around romantic beats and drop out for awkward silences, and the rhythm is brisk, episodic and dialogue-driven. The vibe is breezy and whimsical with a sweet undertow of loneliness, the sort of show that suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a light evening binge, or a comfort rewatch when you want something warm without much at stake. Its emotional register is romantic and gently comic, following a guarded, isolated man and a woman hiding behind a mask as they slowly learn to open up. Intensity is low: there is no real violence or gore, some mild peril and emotional conflict, and only restrained romantic touches. It is for viewers who enjoy romcom charm, fish-out-of-water humour and cute, character-led K-drama warmth.
