The story
Manny, Diego, and Sid embark upon another adventure after their continent is set adrift. Using an iceberg as a ship, they encounter sea creatures and battle pirates as they explore a new world.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated CGI animation with sun-warmed tropical greens, glossy blue-white ice and busy cartoon crowds, all rendered in the crisp, slightly plasticky look of 2010s studio animation. The sound is loud and playful: quick comic percussion, orchestral swells for the ocean chases, and a steady stream of wisecracks from the voice cast. Scenes move fast, cutting between slapstick gags, sea-going set pieces and small domestic beats, with a pirate-ship chase and icebergs cracking apart as the main spectacle. The tone is upbeat and warm, with a light tug of family loyalty running under the noise, a gruff old mammoth learning to let his kids drift from him and a found-family crew holding together. Peril is cartoonish: a few threatening sea predators and bruising pirate fights, with some slapstick falls and near-misses, but no gore and nothing truly frightening. It suits a lazy afternoon with kids, a comfort rewatch, or background viewing when you want something bright and easy to follow, for families and people who want goofy, low-stakes adventure.
