The story

Stevie and her little brother Elliot journey into the wildly absurd landscape of their own dreams to ask the Sandman to grant them the perfect family.

What it’s like

Bright, bouncy family animation with the logic of a dream: landscapes that shift and stretch as they go, built for the feeling of a child's imagination running loose. The tone is playful and warm, a sibling-road-trip adventure where wonder and goofy comedy carry most of the scenes and the stakes stay emotional rather than frightening. Its people are a restless older sister and her younger brother, and the arc follows two kids working out what they actually want from the people around them, with a gentle turn toward acceptance. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with one absurd set-piece giving way to the next, and the mood is fizzy and sweet rather than sad. It suits a weekend afternoon with kids, a comfort watch on a lazy evening, or a light, hopeful pick for anyone wanting fantasy without darkness. Expect little real peril and nothing graphic; this one is for families and for adults who like imaginative, good-natured animated comedy.
