The story

In need of funds for research, Dr. Alan Grant accepts a large sum of money to accompany Paul and Amanda Kirby on an aerial tour of the infamous Isla Sorna. It isn't long before all hell breaks loose and the stranded wayfarers must fight for survival as a host of new -- and even more deadly -- dinosaurs try to make snacks of them.

What it’s like

Warm, sun-bleached jungle light gives way to murky rainforest green, with the camera lingering on dense canopy, mud-slick clearings and the rusted bulk of abandoned lab buildings. Much of it is shot handheld and close during chases, so the frame jolts with the characters, while quieter moments settle into steadier wides of pale sky and shadowed undergrowth. Sound carries the dread: the tick of rain on a tent, the rustle of unseen things in grass, then sudden crashing roars and John Williams-style brass swelling into bombast. The vibe is breathless, pulpy adventure with a wry, sardonic edge and a restless pace that rarely lets up for long. Violence is frequent and visceral, with dinosaur attacks, bloody injuries and some tense peril-driven fear, though gore stays more on the side of action than horror. Expect a few mild profanities and no sexual content. It suits a Saturday afternoon of creature-feature fun, a rainy-night popcorn watch, or a group of friends wanting a loud, playful thrill. It's for people who want monster spectacle, quick banter and a tidy rescue-under-fire shape, not slow reflection or gentle calm.
