The story

When a mole in an intelligence unit leads to the murder of an undercover spy, a hardened agent relentlessly pursues him to avenge the death.

What it’s like

Dim government offices under tube lights, rain-slick night streets, and tight interiors where people talk in lowered voices give this slow-burn spy thriller its controlled, watchful look. The camera stays close and patient, letting silences and glances carry the scenes, while the score pulses quietly under the tension rather than swelling into it. Its mood is hushed suspicion with a bruised, weary melancholy running underneath, the kind of atmosphere that suits a late evening alone or a focused night in with the lights low. The pacing is deliberate, with long stretches of watching and waiting broken by sudden, sharp bursts of action. Its central figure is a driven, exhausted agent whose obsession slowly costs her, and the story stays with the strain of a personal grudge against a backdrop of institutional distrust. Violence is present and occasionally abrupt, including a few brutal moments, but it is not gratuitous and there is little gore. Sexual content is minimal and the fear comes from tension rather than horror. It suits viewers who enjoy grounded, adult espionage and character-driven suspense, and it asks for attention more than it offers easy comfort.
