The story
When an attack on the Kingsman headquarters takes place and a new villain rises, Eggsy and Merlin are forced to work together with the American agency known as the Statesman to save the world.
What it’s like
Hyper-saturated, candy-bright frames with a glossy digital finish: fast, swooping camera moves through sleek interiors, sharp tailoring against lush Italian hillsides and snowy alpine vistas, and neon-lit rooms that flicker between pop-art and gleaming luxury. Action is kinetic and cartoonishly choreographed, cut to a pulsing rock-and-pop soundtrack that bounces between fizzy synth and bombastic anthems, with bright, punchy sound design. The vibe is joyous, cheeky and gleefully overblown, a Saturday-night popcorn spectacle with a wink. Pacing is brisk and relentless, with quips arriving between explosions, and the emotional register stays buoyant even when characters face loss, centered on a young agent learning to trust his mentors and a found-family bond that keeps warming up. Violence is frequent and stylised, with plenty of gunfights, hand-to-hand brawls and bloody but cartoonish gore; there is some sexual innuendo and a few sex scenes played for laughs, and fear stays light. It suits viewers who want big, fun, sharply dressed action with a playful edge, not grim realism.
