The story
Ludo is about the butterfly effect and how, despite all the chaos and crowd of the world, all our lives are inextricably connected. From a resurfaced sex tape to a rogue suitcase of money, four wildly different stories overlap at the whims of fate, chance and one eccentric criminal.
What it’s like
Crowded city streets, rush-hour traffic and cramped apartments, all shot in punchy, saturated colour, with the camera hopping restlessly between rooms and characters as the threads knot together. The mood is jittery and mischievous, a caper in which coincidence is the real engine, with a driving pop-leaning score and quick cuts that keep the energy up. It suits a loud, distracted Friday night, a group watch, or anyone who enjoys puzzling out how strangers' lives collide. The pacing is brisk and the tone mostly comic, though it carries crime-thriller menace: threats, gangland brutality and a few sharp bursts of violence, plus frank sexual references and innuendo around a leaked video. Expect the darkness to be undercut by irreverence rather than dwelt on. It is aimed at viewers who like ensemble stories, dark humour and a playful, chaotic energy, and who are comfortable with adult content and bloodier moments.
