The story
Born lucky, Karim Moussa takes to exploiting it instead of focusing on studies. Now a wealthy gambler, he decides to recruit about a dozen lucky people to participate in a deadly game of survival.
What it’s like
Loud, colourful commercial cinema with the energy of a big Bollywood action picture: broad strokes, bright studio-style lighting, and the restless momentum of a film that cuts quickly between gambling tables, chase sequences and sudden bursts of song. The mood is pulpy and playful, with a streak of tension that tightens as a group of strangers is pulled into a lethal contest. It suits a Saturday night with friends, a loose, sociable watch where the musical numbers can be enjoyed for their spectacle. Expect frequent action, peril and violence rather than quiet stretches, though the tone stays more adventurous than grim. The emotional arc follows a privileged, reckless man and the unlikely bonds that form among the people he has gathered. It is for viewers who want glossy, larger-than-life thrills, a gamble-driven premise, and a dash of melodrama and music, and who are comfortable with action-heavy intensity.
