The story
Lovinder Singh, a thief now in custody and facing trial, reflects on his life of crime while the press reflect on how he managed to get away with so much before being arrested.
What it’s like
Bright, handheld street-level energy: crowded Delhi lanes, sun-washed markets, dusty afternoon light and warm tungsten interiors, with a restless camera that snaps between sharp close-ups and quick cutaways. The sound is a loose mix of Hindi-film pop, tinny radio and traffic, with sudden comic stingers that puncture the chatter. Its vibe is scrappy, mischievous and wry, the sort of breezy caper you can put on for a lively Saturday or a movie night with friends. The pacing is brisk and sly, with frequent fourth-wall glances and a tone that keeps poking fun at celebrity, media and small-time hustle. Its central figure is a charming chancer who slowly reckons with the cost of his easy wins, and the supporting cast's sharp, theatrical performances give the film its heart. Violence is occasional and played for laughs, with some crime and tense moments but no gore, and sexual content is minimal. It suits viewers who enjoy satire, irreverent comedy and stylish, energetic filmmaking.
