The story
A team of undercover teenage spies working for the fictional British secret intelligence agency MI9 who have to balance their school life with their jobs as secret agents.
What it’s like
Bright, bouncy studio-lit school corridors and gadget-laden London streets, with the candy-coloured, slightly cartoonish palette of a children's CBBC series, so it reads as lively rather than gritty. Its vibe is playful and busy, a light teen spy caper with a dash of smirking mischief, best suited to a weekend afternoon, a lunchtime watch, or a comfort rewatch when you want something quick and unfussy. The pacing is brisk and episodic, each story packing a mission, a school problem and a joke into a short runtime, and the score leans on upbeat synth-pop stingers and chirpy incidental music. The emotional register stays warm and comic, with friendships and rivalries doing most of the heart-work and the central trio gradually learning to trust each other while keeping their double lives hidden. Intensity is mild: scuffles, chases, fake-out explosions and gadget mishaps, with no gore, no sexual content and very little real fear. It suits families and younger teens, and adults who enjoy light, good-natured spy comedy without any real darkness.
