The story

This second installment to the collection features “Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots” and “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (HD Collection version),” and also a digital soundtrack and "Metal Gear: Ghost Babel" as bonus content.

What it’s like

Rain-slicked war-zone streets, desaturated browns and steel greys, and the snowy, tense quiet of an arctic base give this collection a weathered, cinematic look. Its soundtrack leans on orchestral swells, pulsing alert cues and long stretches of ambient tension, and the cutscenes are long, talky and often sit as slow, moody intervals between bursts of play. Through the stealth-heavy missions the mood shifts from patient, shadowy hiding to sudden, adrenaline-spiked firefights, with the Cold War jungle of Peace Walker adding warm humidity and a looser, base-building rhythm. Its tone is melancholic and grave, a weary soldier's reflection on war, aging and legacy wrapped in pulpy spy-thriller spectacle. Intensity is high: frequent gunfire, explosions, blood, and grim wartime cruelty, with mature themes of nuclear threat and violence. It suits late-night, lights-low sessions and players who want a long, story-driven stealth adventure. It is not gentle, and it is best suited to adult players comfortable with heavy violence and dense, talkative cinematics.
