The story
Mini Metro is a strategy simulation game about designing a subway map for a growing city. Draw lines between stations and start your trains running. As new stations open, redraw your lines to keep them efficient. Decide where to use your limited resources. How long can you keep the city moving?
What it’s like
Clean flat vector graphics on a plain off-white ground, with stations drawn as simple coloured shapes (circles, triangles, squares) and thin coloured lines that glow softly as trains slide along them. There is no real soundtrack to speak of, just a light, minimal blip-and-chime audio layer that rises gently as the network grows, and long stretches of quiet between events. The mood is calm, precise and faintly anxious, a cozy-focused kind of tension, like watching a tidy diagram slowly fill with pressure. Pacing is unhurried but relentless: each in-game day brings new passengers, new stations and a little more chaos to untangle, with pauses whenever you want to think. Its intensity is very low, with no violence, gore or fear, only the quiet stress of an overloaded system. It suits a rainy afternoon, a late-night session with a cup of tea, or a short break when you want something absorbing without noise. It is for people who enjoy tidy puzzles, quiet planning and the satisfaction of making a messy system run smoothly.
