The story

Mashinky is a transport strategy game about trains. The goal is to create your own transport empire on a procedurally generated map. It’s a unique blend of realistic graphics combined with an isometric construction mode and board game-like rules.

What it’s like

Clean, muted isometric dioramas of rolling countryside, with soft daylight and pastel-green fields, and trains that trail small puffs of steam across tidy grids of track. The art leans toward a stylised, almost toy-like model railway: tiny houses, forests and hills rendered with a restrained realism that sits between a board game and a miniature landscape. The soundscape is gentle and unhurried, with chuffing engines, ambient birdsong and understated mechanical clatter rather than music pushing for drama. Its vibe is calm, methodical and quietly absorbing, the kind of game that suits a rainy afternoon, a long stretch of evening alone or a low-key session with a friend. Pacing is slow and deliberate: you lay track, plan routes, watch cargo move and gradually expand a network, with a steady, satisfying growth rather than sudden peaks. Stakes are financial and logistical rather than dramatic, and there is no violence, gore or fear, only the mild tension of a budget that must balance. It is for people who enjoy management and planning, optimising systems and watching something they built come slowly to life, whether alone or cooperatively online.
