The story

Quill is back! And she's journeying deep into the hexed castle of the Arcane in Moss: Book II, the highly anticipated follow-up to the smash hit VR game Moss. Having rescued her uncle Argus, Quill’s adventure continues with the revelation that a winged tyrant is hunting her within the hexed castle where her uncle was held captive. Moss: Book II is lined with dangerous terrain, challenging puzzles, and enemies twisted in fire and steel.

What it’s like

Storybook dioramas in warm, painterly light: a tiny mouse heroine and her companions rendered in soft, hand-finished textures against lush greens, mossy stone and the cold blue-grey of a hexed castle, all seen from a close, miniature-theatre vantage that makes the player feel like a giant peering into a lovingly built world. The soundtrack is gentle and orchestral, with plucked strings and quiet woodwind swelling under moments of exploration, while the sound design leans on rustling leaves, creaking stone and the satisfying clack of levers and mechanisms. The vibe is wondering and tender with a sharpening edge, suited to a slow evening in VR, a comfort-play session or a focused hour of puzzle-solving when you want something that feels like a picture book come alive. Pacing is deliberate, built around platforming, careful spatial puzzles and short bursts of combat against twisted fire-and-steel foes, with the mouse's bond to the player as the emotional centre and a sense of loyalty tested as stakes rise. Intensity is moderate: fantasy peril and sharp enemy encounters, with some menacing creatures and tension, but no gore and little that lingers. It is for players who want an immersive, hands-on adventure that is brave without being brutal.
