The story
When her husband is framed and imprisoned for serial murders, a doting wife must perform a copycat murder, to prove her husband's innocence.
What it’s like
Glossy studio-lit interiors, saturated colour and a polished digital sheen give this Bollywood thriller the feel of a slick mainstream entertainment, with bright apartments and tidy suburban streets carrying a faintly theatrical unease. Camera work leans on quick cuts, close-ups of nervous faces and stylised reveals, while the score swells with synth-tinged thriller stings and pop-inflected songs that break the tension. The tone is high-gloss and twisty rather than bleak: a wronged husband, a determined wife and a cat-and-mouse police investigation drive the story, and the pacing is brisk, with plenty of misdirection and melodramatic turns. Violence is present throughout, including several on-screen murders and a crime-procedural edge, though it is mostly staged for suspense rather than gore, with some sexual innuendo and romantic scenes. It suits a weekend night with friends, someone who wants a sleek, dramatic thriller with a dark streak and a few laughs, and viewers who enjoy Bollywood's mix of genre and song.
