The story
When unidentified parasites violently take over human hosts and gain power, humanity must rise to combat the growing threat.
What it’s like
Cold fluorescent corridors, rain-slick Seoul streets under sodium-orange streetlight, and a muted grey-blue palette that tightens into sickly green when the creatures move through a body. The camera stays close and restless, handheld in crowded rooms and lingering on faces in uneasy stillness, with a score of low synth drones and sudden metallic stabs that drop into near silence before each jolt. The vibe is clammy dread braided with grim, procedural tension, the feeling of a city slowly realising something is wrong with the people next to it. It suits a late night alone with the lights off, or a sit-down watch when you want to feel uneasy without being overwhelmed. Pacing is brisk and escalating, with long stretches of paranoid waiting broken by sharp, brutal bursts of violence; gore is frequent and visceral, with bodies torn, transformed and mutilated on screen, and there is considerable peril and cruelty throughout. Emotionally it is bleak and weighty, following ordinary people pushed into impossible choices and a few characters who slowly harden under pressure. For viewers who want creature horror with real social weight and are comfortable with graphic body horror, not for anyone seeking something gentle.
