The story

A group of college students go downstairs to their dorm lobby to get a delivery pizza. There's only one issue: They're insanely high on a homemade drug, turning their simple journey down two sets of stairs into a mind-bendingly transformative quest.

What it’s like

Dingy late-night dorm hallways and a cramped stairwell give this stoner comedy a close, enclosed feel, and the mood tilts from loose and goofy to jittery and paranoid as the stairs stretch into an ordeal. Expect a playful, nostalgic buddy-comedy sensibility, with the humor coming from friends who are sure they're being sensible while everything around them warps. The pacing is brisk and built on escalating set-pieces rather than long quiet stretches, and the emotional register stays light, with the friendship at its center. Drug use is the engine of the whole film, shown as a comic, disorienting state rather than a dramatic one; the mood is silly and anxious rather than gritty, with no sustained graphic violence or sexual content described. It suits a late-night watch with friends, a dorm-era nostalgia rewatch, or a loose, laugh-out-loud evening for people who like their comedy chaotic, high-concept, and a little unhinged.
